I crossed into Florida at about 1:00pm on Friday. Aren't you glad I took this picture to prove it?
The first night, I stayed in a Days Inn about 300 feet from this place. Since I happened to have a military ID, I wandered on over. It was a good way to pass the time (and a few bucks).
The world's smallest post office, next to the country's smallest car. Ochopee, FL is famous for this, and little else, I'd imagine. (No pun intended on the "little else")
Another view of the car and post office. I was out of the car for no more than 60 seconds, but I think I collected about 273 mosquito bites in that time, not to mention the ones that followed me back into my car to feed at their leisure.
The signpost telling the story of the post office.
I've seen flags and eagles and landscapes on the back of trucks, but this is the first time I've ever seen this picture on one. Thought it was worth a picture.
A view of Space Mountain (in Magic Kingdom) from the monorail. As Lyle Lanley would say... "Well, sir, there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car monorail!"
The big castle in Magic Kingdom.
Spaceship Earth, at my final destination, Epcot Center! Horray!
This was cool. It's a 3-d rendering of Mickey Mouse, that only lines up from head on. I took pictures from the left and right so you could see how it comes undone.
Waterfall that falls up! This is right outside the Imagination complex.
Big statue of the Finding Nemo characters, just outside the Living Seas.
Marlin, maybe? (That's Nemo's dad, for those of you not paying attention)
Armed Forces band at the American Adventure place on the country side of Epcot
A cantina in the Mexico section... The name brought back bad memories, so I didn't eat there. Instead, I ate in Morocco. (:
Just enjoying the view while walking around the park... Glad I went alone. I would have never been allowed to take this picture if I had a date with me. (:
Ooooooooh...
Aaaaaaaah...
Back to Georgia, today (Monday) at just after noon. I had a nice vacation, but I'm glad to be home!
And again, the other half of the pictures I took this weekend are here.
